Thick hair, fine hair, curly hair, straight hair; hair comes
in all sorts of colors, textures and lengths.
The styles you can create with your hair are endless and usually
Spring/Summer is the time we tend to want to change it up and give ourselves a
fresh new look. Here are some of the top
trending styles for Spring/Summer 2014.
Braids Are Back
Yes we love a good braid, you can make them as fancy and structured or as simple as you like. This time around we are going for old world braids, we are going back to the era of the Renaissance and incorporating the simple un-kept braids of the women otherwise known as peasants . You will find fuzzy, messy, sort of undone braids on the runways; you will definitely notice the classic braid around the head.
The choppy, I just cut my own hair look is in. All over the runways you are seeing this
boyish, bowl shaped short, choppy hair style. Not bold enough to do this to
your hair, no worries, the models on the runways are wearing a wig! You too can
rock this look any day of the week by simply throwing on a wig and since it is
a wig you and a girlfriend can have fun creating your own choppy wig and tweaking
it to your liking and style. Here is what Guido and Marc Jacobs had to say
about this cutting edge style. “Marc and
I really liked the uniformity that only wigs can create. This look was designed
to encompass a free-spirited girl. She’s punk and boyish, which is why the wig
is bowl-shaped and asymmetrically cut. It’s almost as if she took the scissors
to her own hair.”
Flowers in the Hair
An oldie but goody, flowers feel new again, an added touches
to decorate and dress up any style. You can rock a flower in your hair at any
age, it’s not just for school girls anymore, flowers can be quite sophisticated
and all grown up if done right. One of my favourites is a simple flower added
to a side pony tail so classy and fresh.
Accessorize your hair with a touch of Gold; it’s chic, fun
& classy. Gold headbands, gold cuffs
wrapped around ponytails and gold clips are what are in for spring 2014. I think it is a great addition to any style
and for any occasion.
